2.5m (8.2 ft) portable CMM supplies industry leading
accuracy and precision at reduced cost of ownership
3D Digitizing
3D digitizing involves creating a digital version of a physical object.
Properties of an object that can be captured during digitizing include:
shape, size, and texture. Digitizers allow a copy of a physical object
to be represented electronically; then the electronic version to be manipulated
in ways the physical version cannot. A digitized electronic model can
be kept on a computer's hard drive, e-mailed to a co-worker, animated
for use in a simulation, or used as a template for making physical reproductions.
Portable Measurement and Inspection
The inspection process often involves comparing a physical part against
a CAD specification. MicroScribe portable CMM systems linked to the appropriate
software can quickly and accurately evaluate dimensional data and provide
meaningful information that can be fed into the manufacturing process
to help improve quality and achieve production consistency. Immersion’s
MicroScribe family of portable CMM systems includes a range of models
suitable for applications from verifying dimensions to supplying contour
comparisons. All MicroScribe portable measurement arms interface with
third-party, not proprietary, software programs, which can provide statistical
process analysis and control and generate clear, concise graphic representations
of measurement results. Data can be used to correct out-of-tolerance
conditions and to document inspection.
