The TouchSense® Design Kit for Large Touchscreens includes components
and information that designers, engineers, and integrators need to integrate
TouchSense touch feedback into a production-ready design. The Kit can
be used with touchscreens, touch panels, or touch surfaces of from approximately
6 to 36 inches (diagonal).
The Kit includes:
- Integration guide
- TouchSense actuators, either A110
(pdf) or A300
(pdf)
- Two TouchSense control boards: (1) USB with hub for downstream connections
and (1) RS-232 serial
- Universal input power supply
- Cables and fasteners
- Software development kit
(SDK)

- Windows ActiveX control and API library
- Windows sample application and demonstration files

The kit’s documentation guides you through the mechanical, electrical,
and software integration steps needed to design and build TouchSense touch
feedback-enabled products:
Mechanical Integration
- Identify key system parameters
- Select the appropriate size, number, and location of touch feedback
actuators
- Design bezel, carrier, housing, and seals
Electrical Integration
- Select power supply and touch feedback control board
- Define host communications and actuator connections
Software Integration
- Determine approach: ActiveX control, supplied API, or your own custom
interface
- Select from a supplied palette of touch effects and implement within
the host application
