If you’re a developer, here’s how you can add touch features to applications that will be downloaded and run on supported TouchSense®-enabled handsets:
- Grab the free TouchSense Toolkit for Mobile Phones to get comprehensive TouchSense API documentation and the TouchSense Studio tool for authoring full-fidelity touch effects.
- Create suitable touch effects in Studio – or select from among the pre-recorded ones in the sample effect libraries – and preview them on a tethered TouchSense-enabled mobile phone, tweaking them until you get just the sensation you’re looking for.
- Incorporate TouchSense API calls in your code to invoke your touch effects under suitable trigger conditions – typically in conjunction with audio playback, or in UI event handlers. Or, inject touch control information directly into multimedia container formats like MPEG-4 and let the media playback engine on supported phones do the work of demultiplexing and synchronization.
- Ship app, delight users.
