TouchSense Haptic Rotary Software

TouchSense® Rotary Software controls braking actuators that output detents, hills, barriers, and combinations of these. TouchSense Advanced Rotary Software controls devices using both brake and motor actuators.

The software provides the appropriate haptics for many rotary control applications:

• Joystick operation — navigating around a display screen
• Adjusting parameters — low to high, magnitude, volume, brightness, speed, etc.
• Varying ratio settings — balance, fade, treble/bass
• Selecting discrete items — on/off, an item in a list of options
• Choosing nonlinear settings — arbitrary and changing parameters irregularly spaced along a scale
• Navigating a layered hierarchy — a menu tree
• Scrolling selections — long and short lists
• Making precision adjustments — fine or coarse gain
