Tools For Empirical Evaluation of Haptic Effects
The TouchSense Haptic Effect Performance Kit lets design engineers empirically analyze TouchSense haptic response as experienced in a product, then iterate and objectively compare results to achieve the best possible haptic implementation. It lets production and test engineers test, verify, and expedite haptic-enabled product shipments. Force-time profiles help objective evaluation of haptic response. The kit includes effect reference profiles for comparison and information on how to improve performance.
Highlights
- Ideal for technology evaluation, internal evaluation and production testing
- Gathers data for evaluating and improving haptic feedback integration
- Defines and qualifies the haptic user experience for a consistent brand feel
- Helps expedite haptic-enabled product test and production
Better Production and Test
In the production environment, Immersion’s test instruments can be connected to most common industrial test systems such as those from National Instruments. The TouchSense Haptic Effect Performance Kit’s instruction manual explains how to expedite and automate testing by setting a tolerance range using non-adhering sensors. Haptic test tools ensure not only that the product’s haptics work, but that it is providing the optimal quality of performance.
TouchSense Haptic Effect Performance Kit Contains:
- 6 accelerometer systems – accelerometer and interface boards (2 each at +/-5 gee, +/-10 gee, +/-15 gee)
- 1 production testing accelerometer system – consisting of an accelerometer board mounted to enable measurement without adhering to a surface (1 each at +/-5 gee, +/- 10 gee, +/-15 gee)
- 1 four-channel PicoScope oscilloscope with Picoscope software and measurement probes
- Documentation CD including performance references, haptic measurement techniques, and methodology for qualifying production unit
